Petroleum Hydrocarbons and Organic Chemicals in Ground Water Conferenc

Prevention, Detection, and Remediation

Oil and water. The Petroleum Hydrocarbons and Organic Chemicals in Ground Water: Prevention, Detection, and Remediation® Conference taking place November 2-3, 2009, at the Costa Mesa Hilton, Costa Mesa, California, is the nation's leading forum on this topic.

There are several hundred thousand underground storage tanks in the United States containing gasoline and the dangerous components benzene, ethylene, toluene, and xylene (BTEX). Should these underground storage tanks leak, there is a real potential hazard that these contaminants can seep into the soil and contaminate groundwater, the source of drinking water for millions of Americans.

For more than two decades, the NGWA Petroleum Hydrocarbons Conference has trained groundwater professionals on how to protect groundwater from contamination, as well as to clean up contaminated groundwater from spills and leaks. In addition to petroleum hydrocarbons, the conference has expanded to cover many types of organic compounds. This conference provides insight and guidance on how to design and implement monitoring and remediation technologies.
